A milk bath leaves your skin feeling soft and supple. The fat and protein in the milk provide this immediate benefit in your bathwater. The milk also helps exfoliate the skin for additional softness. The lactic acid in milk helps clean and soften the skin.
The lactic acid found in milk is extremely mild, so don’t worry, it won’t strip or irritate the skin. In fact, milk is quite soothing on dry skin.
Milk is also rich in vitamins and minerals — most notably Vitamin E and zinc — which help slow the process of aging and retain skin’s natural elasticity.
The baking soda softens your skin, the corn starch soothes irritation, and the milk moisturizes.
Many adults and children experience uncomfortable skin irritations such as eczema. A milk bath may help soothe some of the irritation of eczema and other skin conditions.
