Herbal face steams
Herbal Face Steams provide soothing warmth of steam on the face during illness and for cleaning pores. They help to prevent acne and help your skin to look and feel healthy and youthful.
Steam is often used in spas as part of a facial treatment. Facial steams are touted for their ability to open pores, soften skin and improve circulation.
They have the ability to sooth coughing and congestion during illness.
Inhaling steam can help loosen congestion and offer relief from coughing. If I catch a cold, I often do an herbal face steam before bed to help me sleep.
Acne blend: rosemary, parsley, lavender and peppermint
Sensitive skin blend: Chamomile, rose, lavender and comfrey
Normal skin blend: chamomile, rose, lavender, calendula, rosemary
Oily skin blend: rosemary, chamomile, lavender, thyme, eucalyptus
Dry skin blend: rose, fennel, calendula, lavender, peppermint, chamomile
Heat a few cups of water until almost boiling. Meanwhile, wash you face.
Transfer water to a large bowl and add 1 tablespoon of herbs.
Cover your head with a towel and lean over bowl for 5 - 10 minutes - or until steam dissipates. Breathe deeply and relax.
Pat skin dry. Follow with a charcoal pore-cleansing mask from my shop.
